Week 3 Arrives
Today marks three weeks since my surgery. The speed of time amazes me. I’ve been icing the hours away in bed for so long now, and yet it feels like it could have been only a week ago that I was waking up in the surgery center.
I’m now able to walk around the bathroom a little bit without crutches, and I can sit in a 90 degree position without pain. I can use my own arms to lift my legs off and onto the bed now, albeit with pain. When I improve with this, it will be a huge deal, as it means my mom will no longer need to help me every single time. I've also graduated to normal-sized bandaids, which is great for spending purposes. I’m impatient to make progress, but I must remind myself to take small steps, day by day. No one said this would be easy, and I’m here taking the time to heal, so I can afford to go slow.
I am glad to get rid of Game Ready. It has been the most constricting and time-consuming part of this entire process. Of course, it has also helped me a lot with my inflammation, but it is time to say goodbye.
I am also now finished with the Meloxicam, which means the end to my pill-popping. So I expect to be pretty sore for a while without my ice machine and my drugs. Hopefully it’s a smooth transition. I'm happy at the relatively short span of time taking drugs after this surgery. My previous surgery had me on opioids for almost a month and then huge doses of anti-inflammatories for another month, and I was still in a lot of pain. This time I only took one day of opioids and three weeks of anti-inflammatories, and I have less pain.

Here are some new exercises, which have made me incredibly sore.
Getting into this position is labor-intensive
Tip-toe-ing is deceptively simple
Weight-shifting is the easiest one
Resistance band stretches
